Keyboarding 9 Practice increasing our typing speed. Continue new learning on MS Word Menu bar.
Financial Math Topic will include Mortgage Loans and Total Interest on buying a home.
Math 7 Finishing up Topic on Quadrilaterals using our textbooks, worksheets, Glencoe Online, AAA Math and VMath websites.
Media Continue work on project for publishing business items needed for a newly created business.
Web Publishing Creating new link and collecting information for this site section.


English:

We are finishing up the Jeffersonian Era and will use our Reading Study Guide to complete chapter 10.
9th Grade Global Studies
We will briefly touch on the Mughal Dynasty and then jump into chapter 19 through the week.
10th Grade Global Studies
We are finishing up Chapter 34 with a quiz on Tuesday and will use our Reading study Guide to complete Chapter 35 and 36 over the next week and a half.
11th Grade US History and Government
We are completing a Study Guide for end of the Cold War and the beginning of the Decade of change ,the 1960's. We will be looking at Regents Exams and DBQ's for this era.
12th Grade Economics
This week we will be completing Chapter 6 and starting Chapter 7



Technology:
Construction: Chapter 40: Walls and Ceilings
From this week's instruction the students should be able to:

Identify and describe the various types of drywall.

Describe a nail pop and explain the methods used to prevent it.

Describe problems related to safety and health when installing drywall and explain preventative measures.

Identify the basic materials used in three-coat plaster work.

Install a suspended ceiling

The students are engaged in the construction of a shed for a community member. All the walls are in place. The students are currently building a gable-end roof truss. They hope to use this roof truss as a template/jig for manufacturing the intermediate trusses. As the trusses “roll off the assembly line” they will be placed on the shed

Eighth Grade Introduction to Technology:

8th grade Intro to Technology - Teacher generated textbook: Design techniques; sketching, orthographic and isometric drafting, problem-solving, technological systems model.

The students are actively engaged in using the design process to create individualized wooden clock housings. To date students have completed the orthographic drawings, as well as the CADD drawings of their wooden clock housings. All students are now working on the physical construction of their clock housings. Two students have begun the finishing process of the clock housing. Safety lessons are given as equipment and/or tools are needed

Principles of Engineering: Chapter 21: Transportation Fundamentals

From this week's instruction the students should be able to:

Describe a basic transportation system

Explain how GPS works

Describe time and place utility

List several positive and negative impacts of transportation systems

The students are currently problem-solving a means to correct a lawn-ornament-sized windmill with bearing/lubrication issues. They have developed a design that should solve the problem and are in the middle of creating the necessary parts.

CADD I & II (1st Semester- CADD I, 2nd Semester - CADD II

The students utilize Chief Architect 10 TM & 11TM software to design and draw virtual residential and commercial buildings.

The students are creating computer- generated drawings of the basement and second floors of our school.
