Dear District Residents:

Spring is in the air!!  When you receive this newsletter it will be around the first of April and hopefully this will be true.  Things have been somewhat hectic for the Board of Education with the budget development process and superintendent search going on at the same time.  The budget is basically done and you will be receiving information regarding it in May.  This year’s budget hearing will be Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. and the actual budget/school board member vote will be on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

We have just received the school district’s report card and once again our students have done very well.  If you would like a copy of the report card it is available in my office.

I apologize for any inconvenience that was created in postponing our Superintendent Conference Day scheduled for March 24, 2005.  When the calendar was adopted last spring we didn’t know that a superintendent search would be in our future.  A late brain surge on my part (has to do with age) I came up with the idea that the proposed conference day would be a great opportunity for the newly appointed superintendent, who will officially come on board in July, to meet with the faculty and various district committees.  As soon as we have firmed up the date we will be sending out notification to all parents.

Hoping this letter finds you well and that your crocuses will soon be popping up in your garden.

Very Truly Yours,

Lawrence C. Patzwald

Interim Superintendent
