Noelle Short, Superintendent and Principal
Welcome to Long Lake Central School District!
Welcome to the Long Lake Central School District. I am proud to be the Superintendent and Principal of such a tremendous district that is filled with thoughtful, hard-working, and creative students, staff, and community members. As a fourth generation native to the Adirondacks I am grateful to be able to live and work in a place where I can enjoy the beauty of the lakes, rivers, mountains and forests.
As I enter my sixth year as Superintendent/Principal, my twelfth year in the district, and fourteenth year in the field of education, I am excited to work with our talented team to continue offering the strong, differentiated and personal learning experience that is at at the core of Long Lake Central School's mission and history. We have an all-hands-on-deck approach at Long Lake Central School - it truly is a mirror of the daily year-round life of an Adirondacker - everyone wears a lot of hats.
At Long Lake Central School we work hard to make sure that each student is seen and heard. Our small class sizes help to support this effort, and our professional, talented, and caring faculty and staff cultivate a learning environment where students can be their full selves.
During the 2020-2021 school year, our district goals include:
1. Provide engaging and effective instruction
2. Foster effective communication: Students, Staff, Parents, Community
3. Maintain and enhance building and grounds
4. Promote a culture of staff development and growth
We greatly appreciate the support of our community. If you ever have any questions about the district or would like to learn about ways that you can get involved, please contact me. If you are a prospective family thinking about moving to Long Lake to make it not only your vacation destination but your home, I am happy to help with that too. In a small community, everyone is connected and our school is the hub. We provide a safe, supportive, and engaging PK-12 learning experience, as well as a welcoming and accepting community, and always welcome new folks to join us.
